Cattan: The description of Calanthe ceciliae on the Jay Pfahl website refers to small floral bracts and a 15'' flower stalk. My plant has large floral bracts (1 1/2 inches) and a flower stalk more than twice as long as that.
From the descriptions I've read so far, I think Cal. vestita is what I have. The description on Jay's site conforms very closely to my plant. It has a 3 foot flower stalk and 2 1/2 inch flowers. All the pictures I've seen of Cal. vestita also show the large bracts. (In fact, the species name, vestita, refers to the bracts.) I've also seen pictures of Cal. vestita with white flowers like mine. I can't specifically rule out an alba form of Cal. rubens, but I feel much more comfortable with Cal. vestita.
Very lovely orchid..just love the bloom so white
