    Question Brassolaelia Culture

I picked up my first Brassolaelia - 'Yellow Bird'. (Just a tiny one, so it really doesn't count against the vow not to buy anymore)

I'd like to know how to care for it - Suggestions, Please???

BTW it's in a teeny tiny 2" (barely) pot, with 8 pbubs (are they called pbulbs on these?) two of which are in spike. It was gonna die in that "home store"...really it was......

    Hi Diane-

My 'Yellow Birds' are doing fantastic now that I've put them in baskets with just some NZ sphagmum moss. Like most Brassolalias, they like lots of sun, good air movement, and to dry out between waterings. If you're growing indoors, I would suggest a clay pot...they'll dry out faster...I also am using more sphag in combo with clay pots...The clay helps the sphag dry, and I think lots of orchids like the fact that their roots can grow through the moss easily...Good luck...
