    Shane:

    This was passed to me from my grandmother and confirmed later by vanilla growers. Vanilla is grown attached to stakes 5 ft high. When they reach the top the weight of the vine turns it down and there is where they bloom, not on the upright vines. Let the top of your plant hang down and you will surely have blooms next season but observe very well because the blooms are almost the same color of the leaves.

    thanks so much! im gunna hang those vines right off the edge of my balcony... see if thats enough dangle for em! ....and the experiment continues!!!!
