Welcome to Orchid Talk! Orchids usually do better in small pots. They grow well when the medium dries out quickly (depending on the type of orchid). Large pots can have areas that stay wet too long and lead to root rot. Most growers don't put two different orchids in one pot. It certainly could be done but they would have to be the same type of orchids that require the same amount of water and light.

Most orchids like to be pot bound. Sometimes, if I can't find a small enough pot, I'll put two orchids that are the same type in the same pot. I currently have two sets of mini phals in the same pots and two phal type dends in the same pot. So far everyone is living together very nicely!
