    Default Sarcochilus Hartmanii

I haven't seen many of these on the forum so I thought I would post a picture of mine. I have had it for about three to four years and this is the first time it has bloomed. Last summer I had in bright sun so maybe that helped. It's just about bloomed out, it had about (6) spikes on it
but I thought I would post it anyway. Hank.......

Hank, yours is not Sarcochilus hartmannii (S. hartmannii is a species, and please note, species name should start with small letter).
Most likely, yours is a hybrid with S. hartmanii in the blood. Nice looking plant and flowers anyway and thank you for posting it..

    Hi Hank,

    A pretty sarc, well done.

As mentioned by Tom, it is not a hartmannii, more likely a Fitzhart (hartmannii x fitzgeraldii).

Photos of hartmannii's attached, the yellow centre is not common, together with a Fitzhart.

    Happy growing.

    Regards

    George

Sorry about error, that is on the tag of plant I purchased, as for the capital letters I have never been the sharpest tack in the box, sorry.

Very nice orchids. I just finished reading an AOS supplemental publication on the genus and I hope they become more available in N. America soon. Of course, being cool to intermediate growers, I doubt they'd take to our FL summers very well. I understand some of the twig epiphytes can be quite challenging to keep alive more than a couple of years.
