Is anybodfy using one of the simple systems where you place water soluable fertilizer in a tank, hook it up to your hose, and the fertilizer is mixed in with the water. You can regulate the ratio.
I bought one but I'm a little skeptical about how well it will work.
Please let me know what your experience has been.

I have one, and it is great for large bed gardens that can handle the heavy dose of fertilizer, but I'm more cautious with the mix and where it goes, especially the orchid crowns. I have a small chid collection so the attachment is used mostly for the beds or mass buggy eradication.

Dave, I use a hose end proportioner for almost anything and if you fertilize/treat early in the day, which generally I do, I get very nice results. I use it for everything from general fertilizing, applying various supplements to applying anti-fungals such as Physan. You must be careful of the water pressure because some of the brands will not syphon from the concentrate container without really high water pressure. I find that the Gilmore brand does a great job, is cheap, around $20 and has a sensitive enough trigger that I can turn the water pressure up enough at the faucet to draw the concentrate up the syphon tube while not blowing away my plants. In the beginning it takes a little practice and it helps to work in the trigger a bit to smooth it out. Hope this helps.

I love the one we have. It works very well and as long as I keep it full, it is great.
