    Angry Bloody bud blast!

Went and said hello to my orchids as I do everyday and found a bud blasting my first this season, I put it down to being too cold last night and it must not have handled the temperature too well on this Den lets hope this will also be the last bud blast I experience this season.

At least it appears to only be one bud. Really stinks when it's a once a year bloomer and most or all blast.

Look around for thrips, or other bugs. My buds on the dens were being attacked a couple weeks ago and after I sprayed my systemic for bugs I haven't lost any more buds. And those flowers are just too pretty for the buds to be blasting! Gotta love those pink flowers!

We wait forever for the blooms and it is always disappointing when they fail to deliver. Hope the rest will be fine.

These kinds of dendrobium tend to be very sensitive to microclimate fluctuations when they are in bud, specially when it comes to humidity.

Well a few weeks after this thread started and this Dendrobium has blasted every single bud from the second flower up. I did not move it from its position and the temps has remained fairly constant same with lighting. I just cannot understand how the first two opened perfectly and the rest failed. I read somewhere that the orchid may not have enough energy to bloom all of the flowers so perhaps this was pre-determined from the initiation of the spike,oh well better luck NEXT YEAR!
As you can see the last bloom remaing but blasted as well.
