You're not alone, my friend. I haven't shown even an inkling of a sign that any of mine are trying to spike. It's getting frustrating, but I'm a very impatient person. We'll see what happens when the weather starts to cool down in the fall. I'm crossing my fingers. Good job on the roots, by the way. Your Catt will be fine

Yes, that's right. Cattleyas will only bloom from new growths and never from old so you won't see a bloom again until the next pseudobulb is completely mature and even then, if it's a once-a-year bloomer and it bloomed in the summer, you probably won't get new flowers until next summer.

That's another thing about Cattleyas - if they really want to restore their roots, they normally push out new pseudobulbs. This is because it is less common for catts to put out roots from already existing pseudobulbs. The new roots typically come from the new pseudobulb. A rule of thumb for catts, if you haven't already caught on, is everything revolves around the newest growth! I'm sure if your catt is in too poor of a condition, it'll be pushing a (probably even two) new pseudobulb soon. When that happens, the roots grow in very rapidly and voila! A healthy catt. They're very forgiving and quick to replenish themselves.
