I agree with you Coeruleo deep purple is absolutely the right color . Jenn I have to back you on the Britney thing . She's not exactly a musical genius is she but as you say she sure can shake her booty .
I've never smelt her perfume , I saw Britney Spears and walked away just like I did when I saw Paris Hilton's perfume . Will not buy it even if it smells good on me just because their faces are on them .
In the world we live in 'freak' sells and thus the popularity of Gaga .Yeah she can sing I give all you die hard fans that , but that's all I will concede .

Vanda Coerulea is actually a cool to intermediate grower, so that might be an option if you'd like to get one. They're quite "in" right now. The most difficult part about growing vandas is what do do with the roots. I've found that vase culture works extremely well in my climate...the vase keeps the humidity around the roots high enough for the plant to get what it needs, and it eliminates the need for humidifiers. I was encouraged to try this method when I read about a guy in England who is growing award-winning Vandas in his apartment in vases, and the weather where he lives is dreary most of the time (from what I understand). So I figured...if he can do it, so can I! And if you're worried about cool temps, go with a coerulea...it will give you the best chance of success.

I will say that Vandas are EXTREMELY rewarding to grow when you get the culture down. Yes, you're a bit of a slave to them for a while, but the payoff is well worth it! :-) And, of course, there's the additional bragging rights that come from the reactions of shock and awe you'll get when people walk into your house and see your beautiful vanda with the roots just surrounded by nothing more than air! I vote you get yourself a coerulea! It will grow happily in lower temps, and there's certainly enough help here on the forum to get you the answers you need for success.

And you can always ask me if you need any pointers....I nearly killed my Mokara and Aranda about eight times before I figured out what I was doing, so I'm quite familiar with where you're coming from! LOL Good luck!!
