Default I hope my orchid babies are ok...

I had the forethought to bring my orchids inside before I left on my business trip to Wilkes Barre, PA. What I did not do was turn the heat on and now I learn that we are having our first freeze tonigt. I am very afraid for my plants. :-(

it probably wont get as low as freezing inside, right? and if they have not been watered int he last 2 days, all the better for a little cold spell. i think most orchids are a little more sturdy that we give them credit for. for a short while, anyway.

I wouldn't worry too much. If they are indoors they aren't in much danger at all. They shouldn't experience freezing temperatures and they definitely aren't going to suffer from frost damage. Unless you have some overly finicky plants, they should be fine...even overly finicky plants can surprise you with their tolerance!

I leave some of my orchids out on my deck regardless of temps. They are under shadecloth and snuggled into a corner near the water heater. Other than that, they are on their own! My climate is nice though...it may freeze (rarely), but a daytime high below 60f is very uncommon. This outdoor group includes a pair of laelias (anceps and purpurata) and a pair of Aussie dendrobiums (kingianum and specio-kingianum) along with whatever paph hybrid that I have. I leave the majority out whenever we are forecast lows in the thirties only briefly...phals, bulbos, etc.
