    Default Eplc. jackie bright

Hi all! I bought an Eplc. Jackie Bright a month or so ago. I don't know much about it, other than it looked beautiful in the pictures I found online. Is there anything special about it? Is it just standard Catt. care? I'd like to know more about this particular orchid from anyone who's willing to share

I have two of these and they have been easy to grow and reliable bloomers. I have provided them with an epiphyte culture. I provide intermediate temperatures and bright diffuse light. I grow them in a open medium. Water can be a little tricky, specially with young plants. They like plenty of water but need dry between waterings. They do not like to stay dry. I water as soon as the medium drys. Unlike Cattleyas I have had more problems with these froom under watering than over watering. I fertilize heavily during growth/bloom periods and less at other times but at least monthly. These orchids do not like to be disturbed. The best time to repot is after they bloom. I am just a hobby grower but this is what works for me. Good luck with your plants.

I have bloomed this orchid. I took pictures but lost the pictures when my computer crashed. The blooms are interesting with an Encyclia form and a lip that has a Columbian Miltonia look. I bought this orchid because I like the Columbian Miltonia look but cannot provide the conditions required for those orchids.

    Thanks, Dean!

They certainly are interesting. To me they look like a cross between a Cattleya, Miltonia and Schomburgkia.

Enanthleya (Eplc) Jackie Bright (Ctt.Gold Digger x E. randii) A 2.5 inch flower that does have a fragrance. I find it to be very easy to grow. I keep mine in very bright light on the south side of my greenhouse.

I have one of these growing on a piece of cypress wood and it is now in bud. Can't wait to see it in bloom.
