    Default New grower, What is this

    Hello im new to orchids and was given this Dendrobium. once the petals fell off of two of the flowers the bulbs stayed and continued to grow, what and why is this. Im going to try to attach a picturehttp://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchidtalk/attachment.php?attachmentid=2385&stc=1&d=112896670 7.

    Ah! I couldn't tell for sure from the first pic, but that's a seed pod. In other words, orchid fruit!

    Orchid seed, however, is like a fine dust, and will not produce seedlings easily . . . and the fruit takes many months to mature. I'd recommend cutting it off – it'll drain energy from the plant.
