    Default I've waited 2 years for this SLC

    Finally this SLC has rebloomed even though its only 1 flower its a sign that its happy and has all that it needs to grow. Orchids really do test our patience and perserverence I hope that you guys won't give up on any orchids that hasn't bloom and just keep on waiting and nursing it.

    I was on the verge of tossing her out into compost , i'm so glad i didn't as she is so beautiful today

    I believe that Sophronitis coccinea (now at Cattley, I believe), a parent of this plant, is typically known as a single flower per inflorescence plant. I wouldn't expect more, unless I knew that it had in its lineage plants that produce multiple flowers per inflorescence. The point of using the S in the SLC was to get plants that were small in proportion to the size of the blossom. You got that. Also, some breeders use them to get flat flowers. You got that. I suspect that it is not fragrant, for those yellow, red, and orange Sophronitis plants are pollinated by hummingbirds, I believe.
    So, bright flower of decent size on a small plant. Good deal for the person with limited space wanting colorful plants.
