Congrats for the new stuff looking forward your post.
Oh my gosh... nice choice!! Those blooms are going to knock your socks off!!
I'm waiting to find a good deal on one of those clones for my own collection. I have a Hwa Yuan Bay 'She Shu', and I wonder if it's related to your plant, considering both of ours have the "Hwa Yuan" in the name.
At any rate, if it is related to my 'She Shu,' it should be an outstanding performer and extremely hardy plant. I accidentally baked the crap out of my 'She Shu' last summer by leaving it in a too-sunny window... pseudobulbs started dropping off left and right, and I was sure it would take a couple of years before I'd see new growth on it, but it's already in sheath again! (If any of you "OrchidWiz" folks--we should just refer to you as the Orchid Wizards--can tell us if our plants are related in any way, that would be awesome!)
This should be a good, reliable bloomer for you. And I'm particularly anxious to see those blossoms when they open! You'll have to tell us if it's fragrant! Definitely, definitely want one of these.... Again, great choice!!
Here she is! the 3rd one (middle) still opening a little bit
STUNNING!!! Quite the beauty! Congratulations!!
it already has, what looks to be like, a new leaf bursting out from an older growth!! its exciting to me especially, since my other 2 Blc's haven't had this happen yet. my first Blc Rainbow Seto 'fantasy' I actually bought in person, from a orchid nursery 30 minutes away from home. its the one that I was dissapointed in cuz of the root rot, the one you talked me into giving it a bleach bath Jen! lol, well its come quite away's since, lots of healthier roots continue appearing, still I think maybe it wont produce another flower/leaf for another year since the plant had fallen apart from the rhizome and had root problems but I am definitely hopeful for it. I love the bloom and do not want it to become a goner. Then my largest orchid, is the Blc Robert Fergusons 'Florida Sunset', and that's given me plently of new roots since the flowers died. hoping to see new leaves from them soon
its funny how the 2 I ordered online, seem to be thriving better than the one I picked out in person, lol. I do think I am doing a good job at doctoring it back to health though
