Orchid from the grocery store

My fiance bought her mom a Den. noid, for her office, from the grocery store. It is in it's own liner and in a wicker basket with some moss covering the bark chips to make it look "nice". The question I have is whether or not we should remove the moss. I am just worried that the media will stay too wet and lead to problems.

What do you guys think we should do?

If she wants to keep the den. alive, she needs to remove it from its plastic liner and put it into a pot that will drain. The moss on the top is no big deal as long as when watering she lets the den. dry out between watering. The biggest challenge here is that the orchid is in a liner inside a basket to look pretty. It is probably already drowning because it cannot drain and the roots cannot get any air.

First priority, repot into a pot that will drain. When repoting take a look at the roots and make sure they are all okay (no squishy brown stuff).
