    Default Multiple phal spikes

Can any phal produce at least 2 spikes at once or do you have to buy one with two on it already? What can you do to force another bloom spike on a single plant?

Best thing you can do is grow it in bright light, not Catt light but close. The plant will produce a lot of energy over the course of the year and will likely produce multiple spikes come fall when temperatures drop. Some hybrids and cultivars are more likely to produce multiple spikes than others, though, depending on their genetic makeup, but since this is a desirable trait many hybrids have been bred to do this.

    What Chris1140 said is right.

This will just happen when your phal getting bigger & more mature. Of course , you need to take care of its basic things such as light, water, humidity , temp etc.

When your culture is right & the plant is healthy, it will give you more & more blooms.

And when you buy that time, you can choose those have multiple spikes which will ensure you to get more spike under your care.

Anything is possible with plants and especially with orchids but, for the most part, multiple spikes seems to be in the DNA of the plant. No matter how good my culture is, I have some phals that always produce one spike and others that almost always produce multiple spikes. In my experience good culture techniques will result in more flowers peer spike rather than more spikes.
