The Arum belongs to the Araceae family, which is a very large family of plants found in both the Old and New World. Some are poisonous while others are edible like the 'taro', an important food source in Asia and Africa. The prettiest in this family must be the Anthuriums and the foulest smelling, our Malaysian Titan Arum, Amorphophallus titanum, the biggest flower in the world. And the smell...... it is not called bunga bangkai or 'corpse flower' for nothing.
