    Default Hey Tim!!

How does an Amesiella spike looks like? If you don't mind me asking. There is something growing at the base of my A philippinensis and I'm sure its not a root. Its pointy, a little bit smaller than a grain of rice. Is it a spike?? pleaaaaasee tell me its not a keiki. I tried to get a pic but damn camera is not cooperating. Do you have a pic of yours when its growing a spike? (I meant your A monticola). Thanks a bunch.

    hi Tanya...

I think it was kinda like a root but greener, I mean once it keeps coming out it has this green covering... a bit like a phalaenopsis spike.. but green. sorry, I'm totally no help and I didn't take a photo of it.

Fingers crossed it is a spike aye.

btw, where have you been? you've been missed!

    cheers

Well, this little thing is green. I hope the plant doesn't mind being move because the weather suddenly became chilly and I have to bring it indoors. Its a lot drier inside the house than outside.

I got busy on the other side . I still come here for few minutes or so everyday.

And that's a perfectly lovely, if solitary flower! Congrats!

ooooh that is beautiful! Ok Tanya, you have way too many flowers that I like... I think you should send some to me

Considering the size of the plant, I think the one flower which is bigger than the plant is probably a good thing... the plants I have seen with three or four flowers have been much bigger, so bide your time young lady...

mine's not doing too well I'm afraid... it kept losing leaves and now it only has three tiny ones...

Tim, when you go to Philippines for a visit, do consider stopping by, I'll be more than happy to pass you some. I have another Paph from China I have yet to ID .

Wait, what plant is this?? I mean, how does it like its growing conditions? I think I would like to specialize my collection with small or tiny orchids that like it wet and not so bright. Thanks all.
I will soon post some pics of my Haraella odorata, which is small and about to bloom. It has two spikes and one of the spikes looks like it will produce two flowers.

are you back in the Phil. then? I can't imagine going back to the philippines and not bringing back orchids... but of course, the CITES and Quarantine issue are a bit of a pain... so will have to keep an eye out for flasks of Phil orchids instead... almost got my folks to bring back some stuff, they just got back and the Phil Orchid Show was on... aaah well, next time...
