    Well, that blossom that I took all the pictures of dropped the next day, but good things have come from it.

    Yesterday, the next bud up the spike from the old one, bloomed! Also, the other 3 buds on the spike are swelling up. I figure that they will all bloom by Christmas!

    Something else I noticed is that the tiny buds even closer to the tip of the spike have also begun to swell.

    This could be interesting in that if the oldest can stay on for a month or so, their could be 8 or 9 blossoms on the spike at the same time

    As soon as the second bloom opens, I'll get some more pics.

    One thing I am curious about, and I'm guessing this is personal preference, but is it normal that the flower spike gets tied up vertically, all the way up, or do you just stake it part way up?

    The reason I ask is because this spike is pretty tall and only staked the first 18"-24", and the spike is much longer than that.
