I am sure your orchids will love being mounted on this palm. The 'stump' of the old palm fronds provide a ready receptacle for your orchids and they are so tough they never seem to rot, (as shown in your pictures). I wish I had one of these palms in my garden. I say ' Go for it, Kitty'.
thank you uncle Yiew, the reason that i ask for support is rotting after mount.i can lost the orchid but not the palm tree ,even though orchid isn't fungicide for the tree but it can rot from moist .

You might try a Vanda on this palm tree. I have seen strap-leaved Vandas planted and growing well on palm trunks in Puerto Rico; even in all-day, full sun. My only concern with your palm would be sunlight; would the Vanda receive enough sun to bloom?

If you are concerned about the oil palm from too much moisture, then you have nothing to worry about. The oil palm is a tree of the equatorial region with annual rainfall of >100 inches and grows in wet peaty soil. It is a wonder that yours grows so well in the much drier Mediterranean climate of Califrornia. This is one tough palm that needs a lot of moisture.
