    Default Shomburgkia Rosea

I bought a Shomburgkia Rosea at our orchid show Saturday. Can I stick this in with my other Catt. alliance plants and expect it to thrive?

Schomburgkia rosea, or more recently called Laelia rosea, needs somewhat brighter light than the average Cattleya Alliance plant - the brightest end of your Catt growing area or in a greenhouse it does well hung above the others. Good strong air movement is important if it gets very bright light, and it does like cool nights. Not one that requires a winter rest. Otherwise treat it like typical Catts.

Thanks Kirk! I don't have very much bright light but it is enough to bloom catts. So hopefully...

Well the first day of Autumn roared in like a lion, cold, gray and rainy, not to mention the wind! I do hope that the Schom takes pity on me and gives me a flower in the new sprout.
