    Default My Orchid troopers!!

Here is to my super orchid troopers!!!

I have to admit my orchids have been abused to the umpth degree.... Three of them have been with me for three years now, and has moved every six months down to Florida from New York and then back up again. They have had every living condition known to man... Lived on a boat in the air-conditioning, tried living out doors being blown over and having to be re-potted every time.... Under a grow light in a too hot kitchen, and so many more places... From loosing all roots, not flowering for two years, being not watered enough (yes I have crinkly leaves...), and through all this abuse they have new roots and spikes....

    Hardy little suckers aren't they!!!

(and no the sun damage to the Oncindium twinkle was not my fault - it was bought that way!!)

Very healthy looking plants. They must really love those ocean voyages.

I liked this story very much. Indeed it often happens that people relocate or just travel a lot and have certain issues with the orchid care. I've actually experienced some of them myself.
What is truly amazing is that orchids are a forgiving bunch and do flower and thrive despite the difficulties of life.
Congrats on the blooms! They are wonderful
