    Question psychopsis papilio

    Hi,
I'm new to this forum. Can anyone help?
I have a psychopsis papilio purchased as a seedling about a year ago. It's growing in ,lava rock and charcoal ,in a clay pot ,in a sunny window. House temperatures are under 70. The newest leaf is longer and lighter than the others, and floppy. What could be wrong?

The newest leaf on mine is also much longer, but not floppy, so I agree that a bit more water is probably needed... perhaps a repot if it is too crowded?

    Question psychopsis papilio

Thanks for your increased watering suggestion. I've been watering once a week for almost a year and more often in the summer so it surprises me that this might be a factor causing the floppy new leaf. What do you think about the lighter green color of the leaf. Is this because it's new or too much light or.............?

Can only think that because the medium is fast drying(clay pot will increase the evaporation) that lack of water is the issue.

    Default leaves

I have a papilio alba and it always seems to have floppy and lighter leaves that then develop into the darker/more ridged leaves as they mature. Just be careful not to overwater in winter... as to induce rot... though with lava rock you should be ok.

    Talking leaves

    Nevermore.
I appreciate the information about your psychopsis. I hope mine will mimic your leaves . I'll try to be careful about watering.
