Default Orchid Story -- Don't give up!

This orchid came very close to death; I was not willing to give up on it and continued to work with it. After discovering my house water was likely to blame and switching to rain water, a VERY slow process of change ensued. After 5+ total years , of consistent care, this is the result. I'm just so happy, and proud honestly, I had to share. So don't give up!!

Wow! 5 years! I'm not sure I would have had the patience for that length of time.

    Beautifully grown plant!

So, 78Terp, dontcha think 5 years is going to pass whether you have patience or not? lol If its alive, you just mess with it like all the others, then one day - you have spikes! I've a rescue going on 3 years, haven't seen it bloom yet, but I'm thinking I just didn't turn down the heat enough this winter, because our 89 yr old MIL gets cold and she's living with us. Another year will pass whether it blooms now or later. I just buy more at the Orchid show to keep me happy in the meantime! lol

Good rescue, looking forward to seeing the flowers!

It was a struggle at times; more than once I looked to the compost pile, but just couldn't do it.

That is why I still have my Mas. Erinacea, Its not dead until you give up on it. So just because it looks like a bunch of brown grass on a stick....I am not done yet (besides it was a bit pricey.)
