Looks like a dendrobium nobile to me. I don't have anything more specific than that.

Yes, looks like a Dendrobium nobile hybrid. There's really no way to get a positive ID. Over 2000 registered hybrids from this species, many very similar.

78Terp, i'm with you on that. Due to its cane-like growth habit, I would say it's a Dendrobium also. There's a page with pictures of all the Dendrobium's - you might want to look at that....just Google "dendrobium" and click on the tab that says "images" (another possibility is to Google "list of Dendrobium's"). The reason I say this is because I was specifically looking for deciduous Dendrobium's. I came upon an entire site of Dendrobiums, their pictures, and descriptions. Good luck!

    Hi again,

Here's a link for you to get you started:

    http://rforchids.com/how-we-grow-dendrobiums-part-1/

That's only part one and there's several parts. It's not the one I was speaking of in my other post that had all the pictures and descriptions, but if you go in this direction, you should find the ID for that picture you posted.

It is absolutely dendrobium but Kirk is right hybrids can often times be hard to ID not only because of the varieties but also because not all are given names. Its identical to mine except mine leans more to the purple side. I love the pink on urs.

or is it just a light purple?
