Default My First Phal that I managed to save.

This is my first and only phal that i bought in july 2012 from a local garden nursery.
When i saw it, it has only 5 leaves two small leaves from the bottom two medium size in the middle and one small leaf at the top that didn't mature, probably due to the poor condition of the plant.
It was in a bad condition with wrinkled dehydrated leaves. I thought that I'll give it a try since i haven't grown phals before and this was my First and Only phal and there was no healthy phal available then, it was the only one sitting amongst other orchids, so i bought it at a very cheap price.
On reaching home i repot it, it didn't have good roots, after few weeks the leaves started turning yellow and also there was a small leaf growing and when i check the roots they have started rotting. So i unpot it and started using the sphag and bag method and every week i dunk it in a weak fertiliser solution. And after months of care the plant started growing new roots as you can see in the pictures below. ( sorry pics quality are not good, taken from my old phone) I've taken lots of pics but my old phone was broken and these are the only i can find.

And today it looks like this.

I'm very happy on how it turns out and grew, i feel I've accomplished a great job, it's such a joy to see it comes back. And the best part is, I don't even know how the flowers look like so I'm waiting for that day when it will finally blooms, and i think it will be a very pleasant surprise.

That is such an amazing job. I am hoping I can do the same with my sick phals. Can I ask what sort of fertiliser you used and also what bag did you use and was it completely sealed. I'm trying the same method however I'm finding white mould or fungus on mine. So I just sprayed it with hydrogen peroxide. However I've noticed the roots are going black now

as you can see my setup in the third pic, i just put a clear plastic bag over the Styrofoam box with a small cut/vent on the plastic.
i soak the plant in fungicide solution before i sphag and bag, and every day i open remove the plastic bag to let fresh air and put it back after sometime. I use a regular npk with higher nitrogen and sometimes switch to a balanced npk fertiliser to fertilise the plant but very weakly.
