    Default Dendrobium orchid repotting

I have this orchid that is doing very well growing in a basket. It was repotted 9/14. I know it probably isn't time to repot since it has not been a year, but looking at the basket the roots have grown so much there isn't much potting mix to see. When would be a good time to repot in a year after the next flowering? When repotting is necessary how do you go about doing It. It would have to either be cutting the current pot or just put the pot in a new pot ( a procedure I have seen before). I am guessing the former, but just wanted an opinion.Name: Den - 1 (4).jpg

I would repot only if the medium is broken otherwise it looks very healthy.

I would agree with ksriramkumar. What species Dendrobium is this, post a picture when it blooms for you.

Usually every 3-4 years. If the media is in good shape and it looks like it is maybe even longer. Planting in this type of open pot will keep the media well. It looks like still has plenty of room to grow, leave it.
