Default Blc Oprah Winfrey 'Inspiration' - parentage

    Hi everyone!

Would someone be so kind as to tell me who the parents are of the BLC. Oprah Winfrey 'Inspiration'

Also, if anyone can explain the great variation in coloring... I've seen pictures of this plant in purple and pink. Is it all related to culture or are there other factors that determine the bloom color?

    Thanks!

    C. Oprah Winfrey is a cross of C. Kittiwake x C. Prism Palette. You can call it Lc. if you prefer, it was originally registered that way, but it is considered just C. now. It never was Blc.

Kittiwake and Prism Palette are both pretty typical big floofy Catt hybrids, Kittiwake usually white with colored lip, and Prism Palette typically splash petal, but both could appear in almost the full range of Catt colors, so Oprah Winfrey could too. Why (or if) Oprah Winfrey 'Inspiration' is particularly variable in color I don't know, but color balance of print photos and display monitors for digital photos probably account for more of the variability you have seen than the real color of the flowers.

Thank you so much! The plant tag was handwritten and I could not find any info on this plant. Now I suppose that is because i was searching Blc instead of LC...but you would think SOMETHING would have come up anyway! Once one of these blooms for me I will post the pics... I'm hoping for the purple variety

    Thanks again!
