Default Help with identifying this unknown calanthe

Hi everyone, this is my latest orchid in my collection. I had bought it from an elderly in the community market, and he couldn't tell me much about it, other than the advice with low watering frequency.

It took me quite a while to find out that this is of a calanthe genus. Now I'm hoping to find out the exact ID for it, and how to best care for a calanthe.

    Merry Xmas everyone!

There are 207 different species in the Calanthe genus. Unknown number of hybrids. At work, I will be able to click thru the listings in IOSPE. I'll let you know if I hit upon it or not.

Sorry, but IOSPE had 137 species detailed and none was your flower.

Some excellent notes from AOS. Image says calanthe vestita but agree with Dr.Zainal it looks like rubens to me.

You will have provide this species a dry winter rest (no watering till shoots are produced)

Thanks everyone for your efforts to make these inputs.
On closer inspection it does look like calanthe rubens to me; the lips on my plant are not as pronounced as those in the other rubens images, with two lips.
And it being an alba, it makes it more difficult to ascertain since rubens seems to be more pink in nature.

Queensland Orchid Society provided a bulletin with caring for calanthes, that "The species that have a definite rest period should be dried off as the leaves yellow and fall." I take it that means no more watering when the leaves are gone. (http://www.qos.org.au/uploads/4/1/4/...s_calanthe.pdf)
It's an interesting plant, with unique care conditions from other orchids.
