Default Need ID for mystery orchid

I rescued this orchid about 8 months ago from my aunt's garden. It was just sitting this wire basket with a nest of roots and half of an old coconut husk. Since that time a new leaf has grown (with two more coming), and more recently a long spike -- at least 3 and a half feet -- which now has smaller spikes coming out of each nodule. This spike has been growing for almost two months now. I have no idea what type of orchid this is, and if the spike will ever give up any blooms. I know it's hard to ID without actual flowers, but I'm hoping one of you friendly experts may be able to help.

Trichocentrum (mule ear Oncidium). It will take flowers to be absolutely certain though, or narrow it down to likely species or hybrid.
