    Has anyone had success potting this plant in a plastic slotted basket?

    Phaius tankervilliae is a terrestrial orchid. I grow it in normal garden soil. I am not sure if it would do well in slotted basket.

    That's what I thought. But, it was the only pot I had to fit it's size. I guess I'll have to wait. ugh

    They do like deep pots and lots of organic material. You could try a wastepaper basket with many holes..

    Monica, I have grown them in potting soil, to which I added about 50% sharp, horticultural sand, in semi-hydroponics, and in straight sphagnum. Even moisture seems to be key.
