I've only been using Orchids Plus for a couple months, and so far I can't say I'm impressed. Unless one's interest is very specific to AOS awards it seems quite limited. I check the online version sometimes when I'm not at home and don't have access to OrchidWiz. I doubt I will keep using Orchids Plus long term. I can't imagine being without OrchidWiz though.

Anyone can register a hybrid if the originator give permission, or if a good faith effort can't determine who the originator is or can't locate them. You'd have to go to RHS for an opinion. In this case Mem. Maggie Hood 'Pride' was awarded in 1965 and Snowdrift was registered in 1960, so we know we it is more recent than the 1960s. I can look up who did register Snowdrift, Bembridge and MMH crosses and when, and who had MMH 'Pride', (OrchidWiz again, or much more slowly with the RHS search), and that might give clues where to start looking for an originator.

You've already done too much and given me enough that I should be able to go from here. I will probably register with OrchidWiz. I won't bother renewing with Orchids Plus again. I find you pretty much have to have all of the information at hand to do a search for that information. Thanks again Kirk.
