Default Having trouble finding information C. Bembridge 'Alba' x Lc Mem. Maggie Hood 'Pride'

on one of the 23 plants I bought a few weeks ago. It is tagged as (C. Bembridge 'Alba' x Lc Mem. Maggie Hood 'Pride' AM/AOS) x Lc. Snowdrift. It is a division that has bloomed at least three times but not in flower now. Can't find any pictures and little information on the plants listed. Thank you in advance!

I have a few that are the same way, so I just determine what works by trial and error and enjoy it when it blooms cause then I know I got it right.

I may be able to come up with more specifics later, but for now I can tell you it is a standard full-sized floofy Catt, probably white or white with colored lip. Except for a touch of "L" purpurata several generations back it is mostly C. warscewiczii, trianae and mossiae, with some other big Catts - no bifoliate Catt background. That at least narrows down appearance and any care questions.

Confirming a couple things, and adding a little more...

Ancestry is all big classic Catts. In addition to C. warscewiczii, trianae and mossiae already mentioned, and a bit of "L" purpurata, add C. labiata, quadricolor and dowiana to the mix.

Lc. (C.) Mem. Maggie Hood 'Pride' AM/AOS [80 pts, 1961] is a floofy white with colored lip. Lc. (C.) Snowdrift (1939) is also floofy white with colored lip in a couple photos, but some older black and white photos may show all white. If the C. Bembridge (alba) is indeed a true alba, your plant is probably white with colored lip but might be all white.

You're very welcome. My first post was based mostly on a few searches of RHS International Orchid Register and a look at AOS Orchids Plus online. When I got home I used OrchidWiz to find complete ancestry, and it also had several pictures of Mem. Maggie Hood and Snowdrift. It doesn't take me long when it is familiar territory like Catts or Paphs, and with less familiar orchids I learn a lot along the way. I enjoy it either way.

I didn't specifically say before - Bembridge x Mem. Maggie Hood is an unregistered hybrid, so of course the further cross with Snowdrift is unregistered. These are older breeding lines, Bembridge and Mem. Maggie Hood from 1930s registrations and Snowdrift from 1960, so your plant is most likely 1960s vintage breeding and never will be registered.

I subscribe to Orchids plus but have very little success using it. I have quite a few that are awarded according to the tag but my AOS searches seldom give any results. I realize I would not be able to register a plant with the given the lack of information but would have to be the breeder who registers an orchid?
