I said 75%. I would've said 100% species but primary hybrids - hybrids between two species, are so much fun!

I have found that the species are a little more difficult to deal with, although I do love them! I find that primary hybrids are robust, and a little easier to grow. Betty in Texas

100% species. Artificial Hybrids are not so very interesting for me.

I mainly go for species and primary hybrid phalaenopses, but you can find some shockingly lovely & fragrant complex hybrids like phal Orchid World "Bonnie Vasquez", which I love. I also have a mix of species and hybrids of some of the other orchid species.

outside of phals, i think i tend to end up with 'near' species plants... i would love to be a massive cat hybrid grower, but for some reason i suck at keeping them, everything else eh, maybe they've been tweeked a bit, but they aint too far off from what they started from ;-)

All orchids are cool so a mix is nice. Since I am an ecologist, for my species plants I try to reproduce as best as I can natural culture - hence mounting for epiphytes and correct substrate for Paphs. However, for my mostly Phal hybrids or NOIDS they're mostly all in SH. I also have a few in experimental culture (e.g. clay pot mounted).

i'm trying to grow mostly outdoors, so species matters to me, as there are many that can factor whether or not a hybrid can handle my winter temps. i shy away from hybrids unless i think they have temperature tolerant parents. i still buy hybrids, but i tend to plan my purchases first and order online after some research.
