Default Thoughts on Vanda Mimi Palmer

I'm thinking of getting one but I can't tell if it's green/purple or brown/purple, and it's described as fragrant, but I wanted some second opinions. I've been wanting to try vandas or ascocendas. Does anyone have one or have any thoughts on Mimi Palmer? Or other suggestions for your favorites?

Hi Liz, to my eyes, all of the images I turned up on a google search look more brown. Its pretty. I don't grow any Vandas, love some of the Ascocentrums, particularly the orange ones, but know I could not grow them well.

Liz, I've never grown that grex so can't give you any details, but if you've never grown vandaceous plants before, you might want to start with an asco. They're a little more tolerant of conditions that aren't "vanda optimal" especially with regard to light, and they typically don't get quite as huge. Anyway, just my two cents....
