    uh oh

I'm afraid that wasn't much help. It should have been though, if I was any good at this sort of thing!

I went into my camera's manual mode, and set the ISO to 100, but then came the bit about adjusting the aperture to get a decent shutter speed. Well as far as I could tell, I had to manually set both aperture and shutter speed, the speed did not change automatically in response to changing the f-stop. Quite frankly it is all a bit beyond me.

Any one else able to help? Or, how about someone nice in the UK lends me their light meter for a week! I have looked on-line, but they are all either vintage collector's items, or a bit expensive for me.

    Just want to cry now.....

I don't worry about adjusting apperture. Just set ISO to 100, make sure that the white fills the frame and use the fstop and exposure readings to calculate the light level. Gives me enough of a rough idea.
