I have a root on this growing straight up. Have not repotted this one since I got in back in April. Is this a sign it is wanting something or should I just leave it alone and not worry? Thanks!

I don't know anything about this species. Is it an epiphyte? If it is, then I wouldn't worry about it!

Yes, that's an epiphyte, so no worries about that root growing out. Just wet it down when you water!
