    Default How often to water?

I have a paph in a two inch pot that I've had a couple of weeks. I have been watering everyday because every morning the pot feels light when I lift it. Is that too much? I don't want to rot the roots, but I undersatnd they don't like to dry out either? I'm sooooo confused

hey, catt woman! were developing our own gang of super heros here on the forum!!

    back on topic:

i think youre watering too much. i have a little paph in a 2-inch plastic pot, and with the skewer system as an indicator, i water every 3-4 days right now. and im in montana, with no humidity to speak of. the air is dry, and the sun is hot. i run a fan all day, and i also supplement natural light with 2 4' fluorescents that hang about 6" over this plant. this all adds up to quicker drying of medium.

what is your plant potted in? youre in north carolina...it must be humid out there right now. the humidity should slow medium dry-out. what kind of paph is it? where did you get it? ive only online-ordered a paph from antec, and they were really, really, really wonderful about answering email questions. heres a page from the the antec reading room. to sum it up, it says that a moderate dry time is good for your paph. it makes the roots grow in search of water. hope ive been helpful.

Lisa you're overwatering your Paphs! They don't like to dry out but they do like moisture and not constantly wet.
