Default A most devious and dastardly plan...

Yesterday my hubby was teasing me about the ever-increasing orchid obsession (I am sure you can relate). Just joking around he was trying to come up with plans to curb the obsession.

He finally decided that the only way to cure orchid obsession would be to kill off all of the orchids! Perhaps mix an herbicide into the fertilizer so that I would unknowingly kill them all! He was just teasing, but I was horrified. Seriously--that would be awful! Can you imagine--fertilizing your plants and killing them off at the same time!

(I should say, in his defense, that this devious plan was hatched during a conversation about building a greenhouse for me, so the evil, orchid-killing mastermind isn't actually going to kill of the orchids. )

Doesn't that just strike panic in your heart!

LOL! Tell hubby that that would be such a shame, as caring for your orchids always seems to get you in the mood for other activities!!

    LOL!

I marry them for their money, and then...well, live better through chemistry ala spousicides...

Thus far, the plan's not worked too well.

Too funny! I, too, am in the midst of convincing my spouse about the benefits of a green/shade house. Though spousicide is not a consideration in my case, McJulie, I have some friends who would be interested in finding a source......

Sadie, I found an easy way to stop hubby's complaining about my orchid obsession. I've dubbed a few of them as 'his' orchids. "See how well your orchid is doing? It must like the company of that newcomer." "Oh, look, Honey! Your orchid has a new root! Isn't that great." And other such sucking up stuff. It works though. Good luck on your greenhouse!

I must be making progress, some of this was almost funny. My soon to be ex-husband complained a little bit about the orchid obsession (which not known to him was filling in huge gaps...but anyway...).

When I moved out of the house in December he somberly requested that I leave him a couple of the orchids. So, he got a sharry baby and a noid dendrobium in bloom. Must not have disliked having all those plants around as much as he said.

Actually, I think he was afraid I was going to keep spending money, run out of room and require a greenhouse. He's probably right! LOL
