Woohooo!!! Success. Thanks so much Heather. Here is one more pic. Sorry the pics are a little blurry, but I still haven't read through the manual to learn how to focus the camera better. Also, I have noticed that the new leaves that are coming out are the normal green color. The lightening occured while I was on vacation and someone else was taking care of my plants. Could dryness or too high of temperatures have caused this miscoloring?

    Paphanatic,

Inserting a photo is easy enough if you follow the following instructions:

First click on "Reply" of "New Thread"

Next add your text to the text box

Then click on "Manage Attachments" as Heather instructs
a pop up window will open that will say:
Use the 'Browse' button to find the file you want to attach, then click 'Upload' to add it to this post.
Valid file extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip

Simply click on the "Browse" button and find your file
Then click the "Upload" button to add it to the post

The last step is to simply click on the "Submit Reply" and you should have your post with pic!

    Hope this helps.

I am gonna find out how to add a pic through a link also. I have never done that one, but I let everyone know when I figure it out!

    Cheers!

Sorry I can't help but one of my Phrags has the same problem. Don't know why. I would assume it could be heat stress since my fan failed a few times this year and my GH got very hot. This is the only difference from last year. I wouldn't think it's too much fertilizer as I rarely fertilize my Phrags. The cells are not collapsed like I have seen in cold damage or on some flowers from the heat. Good luck in finding out why.

    Have you checked for bugs?

Today I came to the same heat conclusion because my room was getting up to about 87 during the day for a few weeks, which is when the yellowing occured. Also the newest leaves are coming out the normal color which suggests that whatever the problem was I fixed.

I haven't been able to see any bugs on the plant. I did have a few mealys a while back, but I took care of them.

It looks almost as if they've been bleached, like either water with some kind of bleaching agent had been left in the crown, or the plant was left in the sun for a while right after watering. Can't think of anything else that would do that, especially if the new growths are coming out fine.

I'd have to suggest either early sunburn (which may or may not progress to black tissue) or pesticide administration (I know you didn't mention it, but I've seen pesticides do this).
