Cool One mericlone happy, one not so much...

Okay, so if you get two identical mericlone'd plants.....how is it with identical care, same water, light, air, temps, potting mix.....one thrives while the other seems to whither and never do very well??? Are they just spiteful that way? Or is it me? Arrrrgggghhhh!

Maybe in the mericloning process there was a further mutation, or maybe just a slightly bad job was done.

Some plants just don't take, certainly I have found that in taking cuttings of fuchsias, I can take six at a time and usually all of them will take, but there are always times when the odd one doesn't (or even only the odd one does!) and I have taken them at the same time, used the same compost, put them in the same place etc...

Or maybe it just suspects you love the other one more. Be careful what you say around it. LOL

Who told you I love the pretty big one better than the puke-y little sick one? lol Cuz truth be told the little trouble maker is in trouble if he doesn't straighten up and start looking spotty like it's healthy cloned twin. The one has at least eight fat leaves growing in a mass of confusion while the orderly normal looking one with straight stacked little leaves looks like it needs something it's not getting. Ah well...maybe someday it will get with the program and get some spots and healthy fat little leaves.
