    Cool Mis-Tagged? Phalaenopsis

On an earlier post, "What did you get for Mother's Day" I posted a picture of a Phalaenopsis bought for me that came with a blue ribbon and a tag that apparently incorrectly identified it as a Brother Girl 'Brother' AM/AOS. But I see some other posts and upon doing a search on it, all the pictures I have found absolutely do not look like what is sitting in my living room. I don't know how to move the image here...but could anyone tell me what it is? Under General Discussion I answered the question of What I got for Mother's Day. It's a pretty one anyways but far to different to just be a result of a change in light or something like that. This is a different one altogether. Thanx for any help you all might have with this one. Thanx for looking...

Hi Connie! With the understanding that we really can't positively identify phal hybrids because there are so many similarities, I do have two plants to show you. First is Phal. Brother Sara Gold 'Japan' and then Brother Sara Gold 'Peach'. They both are more richly colored when they first open and fade a bit with time.

They're all lovely, both Connie's and Lynda's! And Lynda, you're right about the similarities...although you're also right that it means little with highly hybridized Phals. Just too hard to give a certain ID.

Still - enjoy your beautiful blooms, Connie!

Thank You....that first one, Brother Sara Gold 'Japan' looks like a double for mine. The color seems to glow like the first picture...it's an eye-catching thing for certain.
    Again Thanx....

I have a very similar one and have had it for year...Phal Brother Pepride.
I had seen many Phal Brother Sara Gold at shows this years being sold by vendors.

Well, I'd agree - it's certainly not Brother Girl.

Whether it's awarded or not depends on what it is, and we just don't know. It' a real looker - that's certain. I think Lynda's suggestion of Brother Sara Gold is a good fit, but with Phal hybrids, it could be one of a dozen of other equally close fits.

This has to be a "you love it because you love it" and not a worry about a lack of correct ID. Hey - if you're not breeding, it really doesn't matter in the long run.

    Enjoy it's obvious beauty!

It is a lovely flower - I should like it I have two NoIDs that are very similar. I got one for a present and then because I liked it so much, I got another one for work.

Lynda, are your Brother Sara Gold Phals fragrant? I have this NOID that looks very similar and it's quite small and has a very pleasant scent. I really like the little guy.

Chuckle. I think we have proved there are a lot of similar pretty phals out there! Yes, mine has a nice fragrance--kind of smoky lemony or something. And they just bloom like there is no tomorrow. My Sara Gold 'Japan' sent up two spikes on each plant. Each spike sent out side branches. It has dozens of long lasting flowers. It is one of my favorite phals.
