Watering Poll
Let's see what is the most popular... I use unfiltered Southern California tap water... I don't seem to have much trouble, except with water spotting.

:)
I mix half tap and half rain when I fertilize. Otherwise, they get our 145 ppm tap water.

I use water out of the canal or tap for a change. I let Mother Nature water when she feels like it and in the summer I use the drip water out of the AC.

With all of those natural aquifers, it doesn't surprise me. My parents and I used to vacation in Bull Shoals when I was younger, and the lake water was the clearest and coldest I've seen to date! I do love the Ozarks.

If there's RO left over from the fish, the the plants get a treat. Otherwise tap water.... and as we are having pH issues oin the tank at the moment we are not even using the RO water for them.

I use bottled drinking water. Tap water in Athens is chlorinated with lots and lots of minerals. I also use an aquarium ph downer and bring it from 7.5 to 6.0.

rainwater is collected off the greenhouse roof via a gutter system and is stored in a cistern under the floor. For the ones I keep at home, well water is used. I could bucket water up from the pond or collect rainwater at home but it is too much of a pain and impossible in the winter.

Tap water here is naturally pretty soft so that's mostly what I use after I let it stand for a day or two to get rid of chlorine. Occasionally I use fishtank water as well.
