Try getting a chinese cymbidium like ensifolium or sinense, etc. , or one of its crosses like maureen carter or golden elf, etc. I have bloomed my maureen carter on a windowsill before, no problem. I just bought an ensifolium, perhaps it will bloom soon. Some even suggest that chinese cymbidiums can be treated like a phal, of course that is simplifying it since some seasonal temp flucuations are required for blooming. I'd say they handle more light than a phal too
My standard sized cymbidium has never rebloomed and the plant is too big...I might have to dump it eventually
