Well, I just about grow them all. As far as being North, I live in Washington state. No light in winter.
They do just fine in low light levels. Seems to cause a few of them to bloom as well as temp changes. Tigrina is one of the Mexican species that can take and likes very warm temps but like all of them they can take temps down to 40f. On avg they winter with very low light as well as temps around 60f on avg. Winter is usually when I get blooms and growth is at a minimum anyway.
