    Funny you should ask. The "thing" opened up and became numerous new plant growths - strangest thing I"ve ever seen. I'm attaching two photos of it below. There's now one relatively tall growth (the one in back next to the side of the container) and several still small ones.

    Is this a bit weird, or what?

    Thanks Louis - the thing has been stalled for 9 months since I bought it, so I'm glad to see it appears to be making up for lost time. Still odd the way it grows. Oh well. And I coincidentally saw Alien again on tv today... :-)

    Aaahhh...let's just call it a freak of nature then
    At least you know you' ve got alot of growth on the way!

    I watched Alien vs Predator a couple of weeks ago, that's why I couldn't stop thinking about your plant.

    I know, that's exactly what it did! It seems to grow 3 new growths in one pod, but why an epi would have a pod is beyond me. Man these are weird plants :-)
