Default what to do with an orchid you don't like

What do YOU usually do when you have an orchid that is taking up valuable space that you are not crazy about? This one I bought in spike and when it bloomed....ugh. It probably does not have good enough roots to give it away. I overwatered it last year and I would be too embarrassed at how it looks.

Yet, I hate to throw away a living thing, especially an orchid. What do you usually do?

I'd say trade it, but if it isn't in great shape, then I agree, find some poor soul to just give it to. If I can't sell or trade my first St. Swithin, I'm just going to send it to my sister.

Well, I say barter it or give it away. It depends on what orchid it is as some are more likely to recover from root loss than others. As long as it's not virus or spreading rot, then I "trade" for whatever anyone will give me - I let the receiver decide. I've traded for similar-condition orchids (we each get a specie that we have better luck resuscitating), seedlings, other plants, lunch, coffee, seeds.... "Dead" phals, I give to someone who already has an ICU chamber for them. I tend to exchange with people I know so we are clear on how bad the plant is. We all have casualties....

    Throw it away,lol!

No! Just kidding. I never throw away a plant that I don't like. Even if it isn't an orchid. Just give it away, trade it, sell it, etc.
