My besseae is producing it's 6th blossom. Is prodigious blossoming bad for this phrag? Interestingly, after getting to the "end" of the spike, new buds are developing at old nodes down the spike.
it's just being normal. My phrag longifolium is still in bloom since I posted it in sept 2007, a new bud forming after before the bud drops. I think a healthy phrag knows when to stop blooming. I cut off the spike when the newest bud is very diminished.
I think you have a besseae that branches, possibly with phrag dalessandroi influence. A good plant there.
