Possible cattelya/dendrobium
These were given to me over 5 yrs ago. After much neglect they finally decided, maybe as a plea for mercy, to show their true colors. If anybody recognizes them please let me know.
The second orchid has only one leaf per pseudobulb
Thanks,
-M

You have a cattleya orchid in the photos. Not sure of the name, but it is a cattleya type. AND - beautiful too!
Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Wow, I really love the first one, name or no name (though it would certainly be eaiser to get one of my own with a name!). Very pretty!!

Thanks for the replies. These both may be from a private collector who donated them to a greenhouse were I acquired cuttings. so the best I may ever get is a genus. As for giving them up... lol maybe before they bloomed, but not anymore. sorry. I am curious why the upper pictured plant's bloom does not fully open. the lip and two petals form a trumpet like shape. At first I thought it would just a little longer for the flower to open, but after a week they look the same.

The color and shape of the last blooms are beautiful.
Perhaps the one plant needs more humidity in order to open more fully.
