Default New Orchids! Vuyl. and Cymb.

I wanted to share my excitement when I went upstairs to go look at my new purchases (vuyl. aloha sparks. and cymb. golden tiger). These were $5 dormant "back shelf" specials which I wasn't expecting much out of for a while. Since re-potting them (about a month ago) I noticed that the Cymb. had three new growths, and the vuyl. has a spike! I'm pretty psyched, as I wasnt thinking that I would see any flowers for at least a year. Then again - I'm still pretty new at this and don't know [i]what[i] to expect. Here are some pic's:

new spike on the vuyl!

Hopefully some more colorful pics to come!

Any suggestions with the vuyl? I'm giving it s/e filtered light and try to water it before it dries out. It seems to be doing pretty well, but I still don't know much about them other than they like to be a little moist and get moderate light. Cheers.

Fantastic job! well, you definately mastered the repotting part of orchid culture... as a newbie, you are on a great path.
Great plants you scored there, and quite nice flowers from memory.
Make sure you post some photos when they do bloom, love to see the end result of all your hard work.
Great stuff!
Cheers
